“Add an llms.txt file to show up in Google's AI Overviews.”
Not true for Google Confirmed–Google

Google Search doesn't use llms.txt or AI-specific markup. Adding one neither helps nor hurts your visibility in Google.

Proof, not promises

I test on my own sites first

61 vs 2

Clicks from Google in the same ten weeks: 17 checked pages against a directory that peaked at 13,493 scraped ones

Two directories I built in 2026, compared over the same dates, Aug 18 to Oct 24. Fewer, better pages won by a wide margin.

Who you'll work with

Khalid Mohamed, founder.

CapitalSEO is a one-person practice. The person who writes the guides is the person who does your work and answers your email.

Fifteen years on Government of Canada websites taught me to ship every page in English and French, accessible, and checked before it goes live. That's the standard your site gets.

Common questions

Before you get in touch

What does the free audit cost me?

Nothing, and there's no obligation. Three fields: your name, email and website. The crawl begins after your email is confirmed, and the report is reviewed and signed by me before it's sent.

What's in the free audit?

A plain-language report on where your business shows up in Google today and what to fix first: crawling and indexing, page titles and structure, speed on a phone and schema markup. It also checks whether search crawlers, including the ones behind Google's AI answers, can read your pages, and whether your English and French pages are set up to compete. Checking whether AI assistants name you is part of the paid AI search service. See what's in it.

How long does SEO take?

Google's own guidance for people hiring an SEO is four months to a year to make improvements and then see the benefit. Local fixes, like a complete Business Profile, can show sooner. Anyone promising results in weeks is guessing.

Does my data leave Canada?

The audit itself runs on our own computer in Ottawa. Audit requests and the online copy of your report are stored in Microsoft 365, in Canada. The form passes through our web host, Vercel, in the United States. The privacy policy has the details.

Do you work in French?

Yes. Service is in English or French at no extra cost, for businesses in Ottawa, Gatineau and the rest of the National Capital Region. Optimizing your site in a second language is an add-on, because it's a second set of research and pages. Version française.

What happens after the audit?

You get a short list of fixes, ordered by impact, each with its source. You can do them yourself, hand them to your developer, or have me do the work: one plan built from the services you need, quoted after the audit. See pricing.
